Beacon, The

The Beacon is a multidisciplinary electronic journal published quarterly by Harbor House Law Press. It publishes articles and essays for attorneys and advocates who represent children with disabilities and others who are interested in special education law and practice. Each issue focuses on a theme and includes practical and theoretical articles. The Beacon seeks to ensure that all children with disabilities receive a free appropriate public education as defined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 1997 and that all children with disabilities are free from discrimination.
Recent articles include: The Next Wave of Special Education Litigation;; High-Stakes Testing: Educational Barometer for Success, or False Prognosticator for Failure?; and NCLB for Attorneys & Advocates: Reading Instruction, Research, Assessments. Note: The Beacon is free of charge.

For over 20 years, Behavior Modification has been an interdisciplinary forum for emerging developments and debates in applied behavior modification. Behavior Modification offers research and clinical articles, treatment manuals, program descriptions, review articles, assessment and modification techniques, theoretical discussions, group comparison designs, and book and media reviews of significant literature in the field.
Recent Articles include: Community Outreach Program for Child Victims of Traumatic Events: A Community-Based Project for Underserved Populations; A Drop-Out Prevention Program for High-Risk Inner-City Youth; and The Development of Behaviorally Based Public School Consultation Services.
